Two days after falling a triple shy in San Francisco, Pete Crow-Armstrong made sure to get the most difficult legs of a cycle out of the way early on Monday vs. the Rockies at Wrigley Field, recording the first cycle in the Majors this season and the first of his career.
The star center fielder accomplished the feat in reverse order, belting a leadoff homer a Statcast-projected 434 feet to get his night started. He just missed another homer in the third, racing for a stand-up triple after a deep drive bounced off the right-center-field wall. He lined a double in the fifth before finishing off the cycle with a single in the seventh inning.
It’s the 13th cycle in Cubs history and first since catcher Carson Kelly did it on March 31, 2025. Before Kelly, the Cubs had gone 32 years since their last cycle (Mark Grace on May 9, 1993).
