Five teams remain in the 2025 MLB playoff bracket, and the final LCS spot will be determined on Saturday. On Friday, the Mariners punched their ticket to their first ALCS since 2001, eliminating the Tigers in 15 innings in a winner-take-all ALDS Game 5. Jorge Polanco hit a walk-off single to score the winning run in the longest winner-take-all game in MLB playoff history.
On Thursday, the reigning champion Dodgers knocked out the Phillies in a tense, extra-inning affair that was decided on a walk-off error. The Cubs, meanwhile, blew past the Brewers at Wrigley Field to force a winner-take-all NLDS Game 5. Those two sides will play for an NLCS berth on Saturday night.
The Blue Jays became the first team to make the LCS round on Wednesday, as they knocked out the Yankees in ALDS Game 4. The Jays are in the ALCS for the first time since 2016, and they’re looking for their first World Series berth since 1993.
The Brewers, Blue Jays, Phillies and Mariners all earned first-round byes this season, but the Cubs, Yankees, Dodgers and Tigers all needed to win Wild Card Series to get here. The Dodgers completed a two-game sweep of the Reds, while the Cubs, Yankees and Tigers all needed three games to advance and knock out the Padres, Red Sox and Guardians, respectively.
The best-of-five League Division Series could run through Saturday, and the 2025 World Series begins on Oct. 24. Below is a look at the full 2025 MLB playoff bracket.
