As you explore the school section of Silent Hill f, you’ll eventually come across an objective that asks you to open a locker. You’ll soon find out, though, that there are actually three lockers you can open across the two rooms on the bottom floor of the school. One of the school lockers contains an important item required for advancing the story, while the other two are optional. However, you’ll want to unlock all three, as doing so leads to an item that grants extra inventory space.
Below, we’ll fill you in on how to open every school locker in Silent Hill f.
How to open all of the school lockers in Silent Hill f
The students in the school have created a secret code with letters and numbers, and it just so happens to have a direct effect on their locker combinations. By exploring the school, you can uncover various additional hints that flesh out how to use the secret code. But the basic explanation is that the code assigns numbers to letters, and any letters in a name that aren’t assigned a number are ignored.
We played the game on Story and Hard, and these are the letter-to-number codes used:
- A=4
- B=8
- E=3
- I=1
- O=0
- S=5
- T=7
- U=6
So, if we look at the example in the journal, we’ll see the name “KEIKO.” Note that there are no numbers assigned to the letter K, meaning you’d skip that letter and focus solely on the three letters that have been assigned numbers. In this case, that’d be E, I, and O, leading to a combination of 310.
With that out of the way, let’s get those lockers open.
Aoi Takeshi
Aoi Takeshi’s first name is only three letters, making this locker the easiest to figure out using the secret code format. By matching the three letters to the cypher, we can deduce that his locker combination is 401.
Inside Aoi Takeshi’s locker is an Origami of Grievances, which you’ll need to look at for clues on how to solve another locker combination.
Asakura Ayumi
Asakura Ayumi’s combination changes based on your difficulty. On Story and Hard difficulties, at least, your journal should reveal that Asakura Ayumi loves either the “SEA” (Story) or “BUS” (Hard) and has made it her locker combination. Using the secret code, we can decipher that her locker combination is 534 for “SEA” or 865 for “BUS”.
Inside Asakura Ayumi’s locker is the Key Cabinet Key, which is required for story progression.
Tsuchiya Taiko
Tsuchiya Taiko’s locker combination is revealed clearly by some info you find from someone who wants you to destroy the locker. Your journal entry will give you the exact combination, which is 377.
Inside TT’s locker is the Wolf Omamori, which will grant you additional damage when using weapons with high durability while equipped.
Suga Yosie
The Origami of Grievances that you found inside Aoi Takeshi’s locker states that Suga Yosie’s locker combination looks like a cry for help when converted into a code. “SOS” is commonly broadcast to signal an emergency. We just need to convert that using the secret code, which results in the locker combination 505.
Inside Suga Yosie’s locker is the School Bag, which increases your inventory capacity by one slot.
